Machine guards on
all types of industrial machines can have several functions. In some
industrials processes very high speeds can be developed within the machines
(e.g. milling equipment, lathes ... ) and the machine operators have to be
protected from potential objects being projected at them at high speeds from
within the machine. If such personal protection is required, Polycarbonate
sheets offers the highest possible protection while safeguarding a clear sight
on the production process.
In harsh chemically aggressive
environments, it may be necessary to use Coated Polycarbonate sheet, which has
a protective glass like coating on both surfaces, making its surface almost
inert to any chemicals being splashed onto it. In several other industrial
processes, requirements are less high. Mechanical movements at low speed can
occur. Machine guards are often used to avoid that the operator would interfere
with the production process and get wounded because of his own
carelessness.
In such cases, Polyester (PETG)
sheets offer a good alternative : good impact strength, high optical clarity
and the possibility to make more complex shapes through thermoforming. For
simple, flat glazed machine guards, or in chemically aggressive environments,
Polyester (PET) sheets can be the cost-effective solution.
Polycarbonate sheet for
machine guards
Polycarbonate sheet is a clear,
polished surface, UV-stabilized for use in glazing and industrial applications.
Polycarbonate sheet offers extreme impact strength, exceeding the physical
properties of any product in its class. It combines temperature resistance in a
wide range (-100 up to +120 °C) with high optical clarity and good fire
behavior. Polycarbonate can be thermoformed and offers ease of fabrication. It
is available in clear transparent and opal white translucent.
Coated Polycarbonate
sheet for machine guards
Coated Polycarbonate sheet is
an abrasion and enhanced UV-resistant polycarbonate sheet that offers glasslike
hardness coupled with the impact strength of standard polycarbonate.
Additionally, Coated Polycarbonate offers on both surfaces enhanced resistance
against yellowing and hazing for an extended service life in high profile
architectural glazing. Coated Polycarbonate sheet is warranted for 10 years
against breakage and for 5 years against excessive yellowing and loss of light
transmittance. It is available in clear transparent.
Polyester (PETG) sheet
for machine guards
Polyester (PETG) is a clear
transparent sheet made from thermoplastic copolyester. It offers extreme
charity and light transmittance in combination with high gloss. Polyester
(PETG) sheet has very good impact resistance, even at how temperatures, and is
approved for food contact applications. Polyester (PETG) sheet has outstanding
thermoforming properties, combining how energy consumption, short production
cycles, extreme draw ratios and good mould reproduction without the need for
predrying. It is easy to screen print, and offers ease of fabrication. It is
available in clear transparent, solar bronze, fluorescent colors and dense
black.
Polyester (PET) for
machine guards
Polyester (PET) sheet is a
clear transparent sheet made from thermoplastic polyester. It offers good
charity in combination with high gloss. Polyester (PET) sheet has a high impact
resistance and is approved for food contact applications. It has good fire
behavior and chemical resistance. Polyester (PET) sheet and parts made thereof
are fully recyclable and do not contain any halogens. It can be screenprinted,
and offers ease of fabrication. It is available in clear transparent, opal
white translucent and dense white.
WHAT IS POBCO-B? A close-grained, dried, dense hardwood is specially
selected. The wood is then 100 percent impregnated with a blend of nontoxic
lubricants. POBCO-B bearings are machined into any shape and size from this
material with tolerances as close as ±.002. In operation, the lifetime
lubricant is drawn to the working surface and eliminates excessive heat
produced by friction. When not in motion, the lubricant is reabsorbed into the
bearing. |
